EMERGING CSR SCENARIO IN INDIA
A Thought Paper on the CSR landscape and emerging CSR scenario in India co-authored by Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee (Director General and CEO, IICA (in 2013)) and Nikhil Pant (Chief Program Officer, National Foundation for CSR, IICA (in 2013)). The paper was written in October 2013.

Nikhil Pant, member of the Lakshyaa team played a key role in the roll out of the new CSR law under section 135 of the Companies act, 2013 that became effective from April 1, 2014. Nikhil was part of the core team at IICA that formulated and rolled out the CSR legislation.

A RESEARCH PAPER ON KOJO WRITTEN BY PROF. BJORN REGNELL (LUND UNIVERSITY, SWEDEN) AND LALIT PANT (THE CREATOR OF KOJO).
This paper (Click here to access the paper) co-authored by Mr. Lalit Pant (Creator of Kojo and Member of Lakshyaa Team) and Professor Bjorn Regnell (Lund University, Sweden) presents an approach to teaching programming and abstract thinking to young learners using Scala and Kojo. Kojo is an open source IDE for the Scala programming language. The approach is based on Scala APIs for turtle graphics and functional pictures, a process of interactive exploration and discovery, and structured learning material that guides learners. The approach encourages playful self-learning of basic programming principles such as sequential execution, repetition, primitives, composition, abstraction, parametrized abstraction, and nested abstractions. It also includes tools to help children read and understand programs. Results from the use of Kojo and Scala in the teaching of young learners in Sweden and India are presented, along with a discussion of experiences and future development.

2011 - A KOJO ARTICLE BY MARTIN ODERSKY, A GERMAN/SWISS COMPUTER SCIENTIST AND THE CREATOR OF THE SCALA PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE.
A short note (Click here to access the Note) on the development of Kojo by Martin Odersky (creator of Scala) himself. Martin is a computer science professor at EPFL, Switzerland, and (as mentioned earlier) the creator of the Scala Programming Language. Click on the link above to read the full article.

The intent of Kojo has been to enable children to program naturally, embracing writing code with enthusiasm and creativity, they will grow beyond the stereotypes of dry, abstract, and intimidating programming. Kojo strives to create the motivating environment that prepares and sharpens their minds for tomorrow’s challenges, building the web frameworks and applications of the future.
